Summary

The President University of Uyo Women Association who is also the President Amathy Peace Pheromones foundation embarked on street kids campaign. Three resource persons namely Mrs. Iniobong Odejimi, Dr. Blessing Effiong and Dr. Gloria Essien spoke to the children on the dangersof living on the street and pointed them toward the option of free and compulsory education ongoing in the state. Thereafter, the Vice Chancellor represented by Prof. Enoabasi Urua made a speech before the UWA President donated toiletries to the children.

The street children, who were up to 50 in number comprised of male and female minors while others were buddin teenagers. At the climax of the event, some teenagers were interviewed and some of them narrated horrifying stories of maltreatment which resulted in them fleeing from their homes. A few expressed a willingness to return to their homes.
