It was a momentous occasion as the immediate-past President of the University of Uyo Women Association and Wife of the 7th substantive Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Dr. (Mrs.) Rosalyn Essien bagged a Fellowship Award from the International Academy for Gender and Peace, and was subsequently inducted into the College of Fellows of the Academy.

The award is in recognition of her immense and untiring contributions to peace-building and the entrench of same in the society, as well as her passionate and disinterested services to humanity. Dr. Essien who is the President/Founder of Amathy Peace Pheromones Foundation and Payfophan Foundation has before now bagged several other peace awards such as the Ambassador of Peace Award and the Quintessential Amazon of Peace Award from the May Peace Prevail International, an affiliate of the United Nations.

The Fellowship Award is thus another feather in her already heavily decorated cap. No doubt, the award which is not only meritorious but equally well deserved will spur her to greater service to humanity.
